CONTROL Resonant Launch Trailer Brings a Paranatural New York Groove

A week from today, CONTROL Resonant arrives. But today, Remedy Entertainment shared a launch trailer for the much-anticipated sequel to CONTROL. Instead of a shooter, the sequel is an action game. It leaves behind the Federal Bureau of Control for the streets of Manhattan, as a cosmic calamity breaks loose.

In addition to a new location, the game also features a new protagonist. Instead of Jesse Faden, players take on the role of her brother, Dylan. That said, the game is still dripping in style. The trailer showcases that well. It sets the action to “My Favourite Game” by Swedish band The Cardigans. Interestingly, that track previously appeared in the game Gran Turismo 2. 

And while Dylan is not driving through the city, he is rampaging through it. CONTROL Resonant shifts to melee combat, unusual for a Remedy game. But with this being Remedy, the combat isn’t your standard melee combat either. Players fight with the Aberrant, a weapon that can take various forms.

The game will receive a few different releases as well. Preordering the game gets you the Pickpocket’s Tool Artifact and two costumes for Dylan. The Digital Deluxe Edition comes with a few more artifacts and costumes plus digital versions of the soundtrack and artbook. Purchasing this edition for PlayStation 5 also grants players 48-hour early access.

The physical edition also has a deluxe version, known as the Steelbook Edition. Fittingly, this edition does in fact come with a Steelbook. It also comes with three art prints and a poster.

CONTROL Resonant launches digitally on September 24th, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The game will receive physical editions soon after. The physical edition will launch on October 15th, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. You may preorder the game here.
